The second annual European Wine Bloggers Conference was held in Lisbon, Portugal from October 30th to November 1st, 2009. It was an intense few days with over 120 wine bloggers from all over Europe and other continents as well. There were tastings, discussions, trips to the wine (and cork) regions, and workshops.
Among the wine bloggers were professionals across the wine trade, from producers to critics to consultants to merchants — as well as intensely enthusiastic wine consumers and wine-drenched IT pros. The sense of community thrived and was well nourished by Portugese wine and hospitality.
The entire conference and participants were online throughought the conference thanks to the competent efforts of the “cable guys” from Adegga. Communication was spoken, filmed, photographed, and massively microblogged via Twitter. The raised hands at one workshop were so numerous and intense that one panelist requested that participants twitter their questions and input…
I learned much about the different tools and networking opportunities available on the internet. “Uncorked in the Alps” will be expanded and enhanced soon — inspired by the organizers Catavino, Wine Conversation, and Adegga and of course my fellow bloggers. Many thanks to the sponsors that made the event such a tremendous success!

Julia!

Fantastic photos Per! Thanks for sharing!
Julia,
Thanks for the very gracious comments. Your inquisitive questions and input were an asset at the EWBC, and I hope that you'll consider joining us next year – wherever that it
Fun photos by the way!
Gabriella,
I am so impressed with the work that you and Ryan are doing. You can be sure that I will attend the conference next year. In fact, I would like to see it here in Austria and will do what I can to find support to make that happen in the future!
thank you also for bringing #winefuture to those of us that could not attend!
